Georgia Witkin Ph.D. Appointed New Director of Psychological Services

Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York (RMA of New York), a global leader in state-of-the-art reproductive medicine, is pleased to announce the promotion of Georgia Witkin, Ph.D. to Director of Psychological and Wellness Services.

Dr. Witkin has been practicing at RMA of New York since its inception in 2001, and has extensive knowledge and experience helping patients through their fertility journey. “Meeting the emotional needs of patients is an integral part of comprehensive reproductive care,” said Dr. Witkin. “Whether a woman is considering fertility preservation, IVF, or egg donation, we need to care for both her mind and her body“.

In addition to her roles at RMA of New York, Dr. Witkin serves as Head of Member Services Development for Progyny, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Witkin is also the author of 13 acclaimed books, including The Female Stress Survival Guide, The Male Stress Survival Guide, and Stress Relief for Disasters Great and Small, and is a prolific writer of research articles about women, stress, and reproductive medicine. She regularly writes on-line for Fertility Authority, FairyGodBoss, and has her own blog for Psychology Today (The Infertility Chronicles).In addition to her literary achievements; Dr. Witkin has served as a health contributor to NBC 4 for five years and appeared regularly on the Weekend Today Show speaking about current health topics. Because of her work as an advocate for reproductive medicine she has been named an Honorary Member of the Board of the City of Hope and received honors from the AIA, AFA, and Resolve.

As the Director of Psychological and Wellness Services, Dr. Witkin will continue to provide counseling, support, ovum donation orientation, and psychotherapy sessions to individuals and couples, and will work with Rena Stein, LMSW, to provide emotional support and counseling to those struggling with reproductive issues.
